My 17 yo. daughter Katy and I are doing the Camino this June (2016). We start in SJPP 6/20. We are doing the Camino because we like a good adventure! We were inspired to do the Camino by a couple of my childhood friends- one pushed the other in a off road wheel chair the entire length of the Camino Francés. (Check out their upcoming documentary at I'llPushYou.com) Our journey is personal as well as to grow together as mother and daughter. I see this journey as an effort to help me let go a bit as she transitions clearly, intelligently and fiercely into adulthood. She is graduating from hs and with her Associates degree just a week before we leave. I am 41- she is 17. She is my best friend and my life is going to change when she leaves. Any sage advice is WELCOME!
