Semi-retired and putting my time and pension to good use. I learned about the Camino while I was living in Granada. Finally in 2000, everything fell into place and I made my first pilgrimage on the Camino Frances. I'm fortunate to spend my summers in Skagway, Alaska. There are plenty great hiking venues to prepare for another Camino. This time I will do the Camino del Norte starting in Irun. I've chosen to fly to Madrid and then take another flight to Biarritz. It will be a hour ride to the border with France. On a previous trip I've traveled through the north of Spain visiting Gernika, Bilbao, Santander, Santillana del Mar, the city of three lies, Comillas, San Vicente de Barquera and Oviedo. I look forward to seeing the terrain at foot speed. Maybe some of you reading this will be on the trail with me in Oct. See you there! Buen Camino.
