  To shorten that stage, I stopped at one of the Youth Hostels shortly after Cercedilla and took a detour to La Granja de San Ildefonso, where I spent the night before continuing to Segovia. But even so, it may have been a bit above 20 km. I found...

  The only alternative ( walking) is to take a bus from Cercedilla to Puerto de Navacerrada ( 1828 mts] and walk from there to Puerto de la Fuenfria ( 1790 mts). Is an one hour and a half walk not difficult but I don' t dare to recommend to people...
