  True, even easier. Anything that skips Pamplona seems to simplify matters. But it seems the most common travel plans involve flying in into Madrid and then making their way by ground transportation to Pamplona and then SJPP.

  I have used Village to Village for the Portugues and the Primitivo - slim volumes with lots of information, and I prefer paper copies with Gronze as backup. Very useful guides.
