I usually tie boot laces together, and attach the grips on poles together with something, so if a still sleepy pilgrim picks up the wrong gear, they may need to wake up in order to use them... ;-)

I have back issues so often get massages. I've had them in Pamplona, Villatuerta (the best), Villafranca Montes de Oca, Burgos, and Leon. I've paid 20-60 euros.

Have you looked at Gregory Packs? Even some of their day packs have adjustable torsos. And the waist belts are designed to carry weight.
