I just completed the Primitivo during the first 15 days of October. And had no problem finding places that were open. Both restaurants and hotels. I love the Primitivo.

For planning, Gronze is the sine qua non. It functions as a kind of Wiki: users (mainly Spanish) and the site owners are continually updating it. It isn´t infallible but the information on it is pretty well always more topical than anybody...
