Hello, friends. I enjoyed a rather rainy but still very beautiful Camino from Porto to Santiago from late September to early October this year. I have posted some of my photos if anyone cares to have a look. Buen Camino!
Other than the climb up O Cebreiro, temps didn't really get below 40 and we had many sunny days in the 70s and 80s. Much better than early spring in Maine!

We left SJPdP on March 15th this year. We had no trouble finding albergues to spend the night. Also, I found Gronze to quite reliable about seasonal start dates and daily opening times.

It is important that the pilgrim stick to it in regards to the wine tasting. After all, the viticultural diversity of northern Spain is something many do not get to experience first hand. Just remember that it's a marathon and not a sprint.
We stayed at Albergue Alto da Pena in A Pena in April. It was not quite 10km from Negreira. The view from the upper floor over the valley was stunning, especially when sitting on the throne (toilet)! And the communal meal was excellent.
When my wife and I passed through Leon last spring, we read on Gronze that sleeping accommodations there were still segregated and chose a different albergue. So yes, they still do apparently.
