I walked the Norte in 2022. The section from SS to Bilbao has variety. Some segments have rough trail i.e. stones, irregular surfaces. Some is road walking. There are steep ascents leaving SS. Steep descents as you enter Zarautz, Deba and Bilbao...

My wife and I are on the Frances. We’re taking a rest day in Sarria. Before we left the US we read and watched videos, etc.. It occurs to me that a lot of us overthink this thing. On the night before we walked out of St Jean PDP we stopped...

jabrown replied to the thread Update on my Camino Plans.
If you're doing 3-6 miles a day, you can do 12 on trail. I'm assuming you're doing the Francais. Just take good care of your feet. I used Compheed when I suffered some big bad blisters on one foot while on the Norte and to my astonishment I was...

The Cicerone guide authored by our own @Dave will get you there and back again. Despite its reputation that coast doesn’t move much. Accommodations and bar opening times may have changed but if you want a wild adventure then you’ll need to...

The section of the Norte you are contemplating is an epic passage i.e. beautiful scenery, challenging trail conditions, long stages, steep ascents and descents. When I walked, my interactions were almost 100 percent Europeans, many of which were...

Since you haven't walked the last part of the Norte I recommend that rather than repeating the Primitivo. There are some lovely beach areas before you turn inland, and the inland parts are very nice too.

A recent post by @Kirkie in another older thread about the descent has prompted me to make this post. In it she tells us this: "I wrote to turismo.web@navarra.es The reply I got just now - I quote: Good morning, as you say, there is a part of...
