All good on April 3, 2024. The path up to the frontier was still snow covered, we took the road for the last 30-45 minutes.

BTW, 6 days later, full on blizzard across the Pyrenees. We were down below by then and only got rain. Another Pilgrim sent me a pic at the pass. Our timing was good or we just got lucky.

Early May, should be ok, but weather can change drastically in the pyrenees so be prepared. Here was a day in late April, this year. The day before and after were dry and sunny..

You should be just fine in early May. It's glorious up there that time of year, with early wildflowers appearing and the trees so freshly greening!
