@alaskadiver looks good to me also.
My granddaughter is Cuban/American.
The saddest day in my life was when my daughter got divorced
God her mother in law can cook

I don't agree with Austrian, I have done 9 Caminos and never had a bad Pilgrim meal. " A pilgrim is always grateful " so the saying goes. Doing my 10th. Camino in June. Enjoy everyone.
I always got the food I deserved for that day, just as I got the weather I deserved during my trip...
30 days of rain out of 34 says I deserved it.... but maybe it was just someone close to me, who deserved all that rain. Because,... I never had any complains about the food (it wasn't always like at home, but no complains from my side)...
@Jersey So your son in law is Cuban. Your daughter got the divorce not you. Stay friends with mami and get invited over for meals! Or, if you like to cook-buy any of the books from Three Guys From Miami. Genuine Cuban recipes that are easy to make.
@nathanael Palates do differ.
So as I said to others, don;t judge me, I don't judge you.
Pilgrim's meals are in my humble opinion bad. But then, I only had one, but that is all I needed.
@ The Austrian:
I'm the last to judge you
But, my daughter once said: "these clamps are bad!!!". Then I learned here that taste is not about "good or bad", but about "like it or not like it"
@alaskadiver I make very decent empanadas
And I live in the NYC metropolitan area.
Great food choices but yes I should have been nicer to my daughters mother in law
I'm a vegetarian, and so the visceral reaction to this pic is "Yuck."
But food is food--and pilgrim food isn't meant to have any stars attached to it. The Menu del Dia is a much safer option if you eat meat.
My vegetarian version of this was an enormous plate of french fries. That was it--it was the vegetarian pilgrim menu they could provide. I love fries, but in moderation!
It turns out that my food picture and observation is the most commented image of all my 70+ pictures.
This just shows how personal food can be. I love food. Nothing beats a communal meal, bringing people together, great talks and laughs. BUT only if the food is good........
