I fell in love with the Camino that day...I didn't have a month to hike the Camino so I was doing a lot of "2 stages in one day" days...I had previously hiked Estella to Viana and then Viana to Najera and was wiped out. (Middle of July so it was also hot)

I decided to take a "half day" and hiked from Najera to Granon. I left at 5:00am to avoid the heat and then got into Granon around 11:30...had a number of beers that afternoon and then attended the community meal and then the chapel service.

I loved the Camino before that...but a 27km day allowed me to recover and was just what the doctor ordered. I hiked to San Juan the next day and felt good the entire 40km.
