Hi Ivar, I can see that there is work going on at the Cathedral, is it cleaning the stone or more than that and when is it due to be finished.

People in the pilgrims office told me it will take many years. This is apparently the first EVER major renovation of this ancient building, and the structural problems are many, apparently. But the good news is that the renovation is being done to an exceptionally high standard, I've been told.

Arrived in Santiago September 25th 2016. Proud holder of the Compostela. Fantastic experience. Looking forward to do the Camino again in the new year. I appreciated this website in planning my Camino.
