It’s a great view although that climb was a bit daunting especially as I had walked about 10 km before starting the climb.

Yes a really beautiful walk, and I can only imagine much prettier than the main route which i understand follows the road.
You're right though, the initial climb up is very steep. I'm guessing you stayed in Cacabelos the same as us which is about 10k? We also took the off road route from there to Villafanca which was also beautiful.
If I ever happen across the CF again then I'd love to stay a night in the little Albergue in Pradela which looked magical with spectacular surroundings.
