Hello Eliana, and welcome.

Lots andlos of threads about this. Some going on right now. Bottom line is yes, very safe, but also use sound jugement.

If you are walking the Frances from May into October you will likely see people in front and behind you a great part of the time walking to Santiago just like you. If you feel unsure, ask someone if they mind some company and walk together for a while.

yep, safest time of the year regarding numbers (assuming you consider safety in numbers). watch out with the heat though, heatstroke proved to be more dangerous than humans (or animals) last year.
Buen Camino!

Welcome to the forum! End of August/September you will never be alone on the way (unless you choose to) and there is safety in numbers. I find and found the Camino very safe and I am normally walking alone. Your biggest danger is perhaps a sprained ankle or similar and that time of the year there will always be a pilgrim nearby to help you up.
Buen Camino, SY
