Has anyone heard of a (donativo) refuge in Givet (in France, at the border with Belgium)? It should be on the Via Monastica, but I can't find any information online about it. Would love to sleep there, because it would be my first refuge on my journey from Amsterdam to Santiago.

Givet, I don't know. But I can find out.
I know about possibilities in Beauraing. The priests of the sanctuary (not the parish) take people in a room next to their home. I don't know how much and if they will charge, but it should not be much. It's about 12 km before Givet, still in belgium. There are all kinds of possibilities to eat and for shopping in this village too. It's a marial sanctuary. Many other villages in this area of belgium do not have shops. But I can ask my friends in Beauraing if there is anything in Givet.
I will be in that area within 2 weeks. You won't need the adress before..I guess.

I don't know how you are walking, but if you come from the direction of Chevetogne (where you could sleep), you could also spend a night with the Tiberiades. Great bunch of people. But then Givet would indeed be the next stage.
Just send me a PM. I have walked in 2000 from Oudenbosch (noord-brabant) to Beauraing. I can give you the details from this trip.

Thanks a lot, Marian! I just replied on your PM (in Dutch). I have a little booklet of the route from Den Bosch to Rocroi, but I guess not all possibilities are listed there. But you are right, I still have plenty of time since I am now only in Gorinchem. I have planned to walk my first week (from Vught to Diest) in April.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
