Tomorrow it will start! After the Camino Portuguesa de la Costa in June, I now want to walk the Caminho Inglese. I have a lot of respect for the many climbs. This time I will sleep in pilgrim hostels, which is also a challenge for me as a 61-year-old man. But despite all the little worries, the joy of the journey outweighs them. Are any of you pilgrims starting from there right now?I'm already on my way from Santiago Airport to Ferrol by bus since my first planned Blablacar driver leaves Santiago quite late in the evening. And so I can already use the nice weather in Ferrol to take my first steps on the Camino. If possible and allowed, I'll post some photos soon...
Buen camino, Wolfinho

@Wolfinho , the Albergues take a little getting used to but you'll be fine. I'm only 2 years younger than you, and many on here are, shall we say, somewhat older and still use the Albergues. If it gets too much, it's really easy on the Inglès to find a cheap hotel for the night (except at Bruma).
Ferrol is a lovely little town, hopefully you'll have a little time to explore!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Yes, I have hast some hours to explorer it. And I visit the „Monolito“, where the Camiño Inglése starts. I like it!! And thank you for your encouragement about my doubts because of the Albergues .

Thank you for the good wishes. After a somewhat tiring day yesterday because I panicked about not being able to find a bed in Pontedeume, I have had two wonderful days as far as the pilgrim way itself is concerned. A lot of ups and downs, but still manageable even for me, an old man (61), even with luggage, even if I packed too much. The path leads through very varied landscapes, fields, forests, jungle, a beautiful beach at “A Punto de Porco”, blue sky with small clouds, but no rain and nice fellow pilgrims, even if I have mostly walked alone so far. I enjoy, looking forward to every single day of my pilgrimage and will share with you and of course I also look forward to receiving posts from your pilgrim ways to Santiago.
