Leon - Santiago de compostela

Hi!
I have a few questions. Planning a trip to Santiago de C in maybe a year. Im not that used to wandering and i have a few questions about shorter distances.

If i start in Leon, how do i get there easily and cheap from Sweden, and can i still get the credencial and la compostela? And what is the name of the route from Leon? And yes of course. How long is it, and how long will it take, if i want to look around and sleep in villages at the way a few days longer. Or is there any other shorter ways instead of from Leon that maybe are better?

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi Dan,

I did the route Leon SdC in last May. It is about 300km and we walked it in an(easy tempo) 20 days. Because it is more than 100 km you can get your compostella in SdC at the office near the cathedral. Make a search on this forum and you will find some more threads about this subject.
I did get my first stamp on my credential in the cathedral in Leon but don't know if you can get there a credential..
Name of the route is still Camino Frances....all the way to SdC... :D
Of course you can start at any place along the route between Roncevalles and SdC : it is up to you.

From Holland I did get to Valladolid by plane (ryanair) and took there the train to Leon (appr. 1,5 hour) to start the walk. At http://horarios.renfe.es/hir/ingles.html you can get some info about the trains.

In Leon we stayed one night at a cheap hostal Sandoval before starting to walk. Take a look at their website: don't know the exact URL anymore.

Good luck and........................
Buen camino
