I walked from SJPdP in 2012, then did a few partial Caminos, did the Frances by bike last year, but never planned to walk again, I have had failed knee surgery so it's difficult. Recently I came across my backpack in the garage, and considered donating it. But apparently the Camino isn't done with me!!! My husband and I walked the Cotswold Way in July, and even though I was slow, my knees did OK. Then I'm getting daily posts from a friend whose walking the Camino Portuguese right now, and voila, we decided to try it. I'm tentatively planning for a year from now. So I just renewed my forum membership, and am happy to be back.

Welcome back. I had real knee issues on my 2016 Camino Frances. It almost derailed my Camino. But earlier this summer I walked the San Salvador and Primitivo caminos (both with their shares of steep descents) without issue. So recovery and future caminis are possible!

That’s good news! As long as I go slow and have my poles I think I’ll do fine.
