I am making my first Camino this september and I am starting in Baiona. I will be spending time in Porto prior to the walk and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on the best way to get from Porto to Baiona. I am considering taking a train to Vigo and a taxi to Baiona. Any advice you can give me would really be appreciated.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
We just finished in Baiona and had to fly out of Porto so we did the reverse of what you are asking, but elected to take a car service that was booked though Booking.com for $200. Not the cheapest, but made for a super easy transfer and we got to spend the extra time in Porto so felt it was worth it. Helped that there were two of us to defray the cost.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
In April 2023 I arrived in Vigo via train from Madrid to walk the Coastal and Spiritual Variant. The connection to Baiona via bus was very simple. Buses are lined up two minutes walk outside the train terminal. I paid a couple euros at the bus and had a nice short ride to Baiona. You can validate your credential at the church in near the waterfront. Buen Camino.

Check the Alta bus schedule. I took it from Santiago to Porto and imagine you could also go from Vigo. Very comfortable and inexpensive compared to a taxi. I took a smoky private car (taxi) from Porto to Baiona and did not enjoy the backseat ride through the hills. Hope you have some time to enjoy Porto then tell us about your coastal experience. I’ll be doing the same (Porto to Baiona) in June.
