We finished our Invierno mid May. We had a “live from the Camino thread” if you want to read about our dog encounters. No bites but for me - a scaredy cat when it comes to dogs, it was scary - but I made it through unscathed.Hi pilgrims. I'm in Ponferrada, starting tomorrow. We walked the Invierno in March/April this year and I nervously kept an eye out for said dog, but, thankfully, no sign. There were quite a few snarky dogs, but they were chained up. We encountered a few loose dogs, but although some barked, none came after us or bit us. We tried to keep calm, not make eye contact and just kept walking calmly. All was well. We were also 'escorted' by the German Shepherd dog that has been mentioned. He was lovely.I think the famous snarling chained dog has died of old age now.
