Hi all... So, I'm cycling the Camino route northwards in France, and somewhere Châtellerault and Veigne there was a dead animal, maybe about a meter long, on the grass verge and my friend and I have been debating ever since what it was... Too big for the usual suspects it was definitely rodent like, not a dog or deer or anything like that. It was about 3 days ago. I don't suppose anyone saw it too, maybe took a picture?!!

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Almost certainly a coypu. I have seen hundreds of the things in waterways in France. They get pretty big. Very little chance of spotting a beaver in France. The tail is the most obvious difference. A beaver tail is broad and flat. The coypu's tail is very much like that of a rat but much much bigger!

Ah yes.... That does make sense, but this thing was absolutely enormous, and I didn't know that coypu get that big...but the face looks about right. Thanks

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Hope to do st Jean de port to finisterre in September 24 on bike. To buy a bike in Ireland and transport or buy in France. Any thoughts welcomed
Is there a dedicated guide for cyclists that suggests alternatives to the rocky/steep parts of the trail? I found a link to a 2018 one on another thread, but it is no longer available.
