Col de Somport

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
There is a very nice gite in Lescar, a suburb of Pau. The tourist office has the key, which you will leave in a drop box the next morning. Since you are arriving late, contact them in advance for the key. They have a number of volunteers who can meet you at the gite with the key. You can walk there, but I suggest a taxi!

There are buses, too.

A gite (there should be a hat on the "i") is the French word for an accommodation, similar to an albergue in Spain.

Lescar is the town to the west of Pau. The key for the gite is at the office de tourisme, which has the usual irregular hours.
