Just a quick follow up to the last thread I posted regarding horrendous conditions in and out of Roncesvalles.

I am currently in pamplona and just spoke with another pilgrim. I pray to God he's wrong but he told me they closed the route between St Jean and Roncesvalles completely just after I did it due to the death of a pilgrim. I have to say if this is true I'm not surprised. There were moments I seriously worried for my own safety.

It's also close to impossible to take any paths due to ridiculous amounts of water. The path out of Zubiri was totally under water. The main road is really the only option right now.

Snow is forecast overnight here so fingers crossed the path is clear tomorrow. It's all fun and games on the Camino at the moment. But loving it!

Be safe and don’t take any chances, the Camino will stil be there when the weather abates.

Please be prudent. I’m sure the original Peregrinos would not have been in such a hurry as to endanger themselves . Just stay dry warm and take the time to search your inner self to know your reason for being in the Camino . As many say,” the Camino is the journey more than the destination.

Leon is under 5ft of snow right now, you should see the news, its like the Lapland. Anywhere north is just flooded, the storm here in llanes last night was incredible with hail stones the size of golf balls. Not a good time to be on the Camino, find an albergue and stay put is my advice.

Hello, two weeks ago, I finished the Camino Francés, and while all the recent memories have not properly settled yet, I think enough time has passed to write a bit about my experience of the...
Is there a list of albergues that also have private rooms on the Camino Frances? Gracias.
Can anyone give me (newbie!) some guidance on planning my stages after Roncesvalles? I currently have lodging booked Zubiri, Pamplona and then Puente la Reine, and on from there. I would prefer...
Big stupid question: what if, in the middle of a stage, I realize I can't really walk anymore? For whatever reason, fatigue, pain, etc. How others have treated this? Are there buses usually...
