Hi @elke888
That was some loooong haul to Sevilla.
I think you’ll be surprised after you’ve had a decent sleep. I find that the jet lag really kicks in on return from Spain.
Buen camino.
I’m glad to hear you’ve made contact. I stayed in may2022 and again in Oct 2023. They are a going concern and run a good ship. Meals can be obtained in their cafe also. I was comfortable on both occasions. Anyone having a problem. Just have patience. 🤞 They could be cleaning rooms if...
I believe so. Reading the current updates by Gerald Kelly on the fb group ‘via de la plata pilgrim group ‘., there are earlier sections. .
But… It WILL abate. It always does.
Do you use Gronze.com ?
Great resource. Btw Fuenterroble de Salvatierra has such a lovely albergue., with stacks of room.
From there you could take the variante to Morille / Gronze shows a stop before Morille to shorten the stage . I’m glad you’re not there now - reports of lots of...
Sunday 31/3/24. - it’s wet now and has been wet @camino07 but the sunshine and drying out will happen. I’m thinking it will be good when you start on 10th. Buen camino
Hats off to those right now tho.
Hi 👋 there Jack.
Buen camino .. where did you book in the historic section of Sevilla? Wondering what the rate was there .. it could help others looking for accommodation.
Re company - I found there was usually someone around to talk to if I was in the mood for company. I found some...
Hi Luka
Good reports & Gee I wish I was there ❤️❤️🙏🙏
I think the @wisepilgrim app is pretty well up to date . You could download if you’ve got wifi ?
Or also @geraldkelly Gerald’s VIA app .. is pretty regularly updated.
I’ve attached a screen shot (Gerald’s VIA app) of that section ...
If you don’t have success with finding someone to open the albergue /
- there are two places on Gronze available thru booking dot com. Hostal casa concha could fit ? Or
- if you still have fuel in your tank enough to walk on to El real de jara (also listed on Gronze) 10-13ks , there is...
🙏❤️❤️ it makes me wish I’d included that loop in may2022 - The albergue looks great (I notice they are all getting up market with modern laundry equipment and kitchens.). Plenty of spaces too.
The walking on the Sanabrés is beautiful and that section shows the tranquility. ❤️
Hi Kirkie
I have been experiencing this really slow downloading of pics also. Only over recent weeks though. Inexplicable? Not only on the pics in this thread either. I’ve just tried again . I had to divert my attention to something else for a while and eventually they opened. If I’m...
Hi James
It will be really busy … but go to the catedral ..find the line and walk up beside it and indicate (holding your credencial ) that you’re only after the sello for it - not in the line to go in. There are helpers there who will take you to the spot just inside and stamp the credencial...
My thoughts too Kirkie ❤️
Karin and Sarah
You might not be able to see us as you walk into the square - but we will be with you ❤️❤️❤️❤️ and waving
It’s been a long and hard walk but ‘what a walk’. What memories!!! What a friendship ❤️
Buen camino.
Hi Karin
. I wrote “”this””” (below ) when I walked out in May 2022. I’ll include the pics from that post also. Note: the green dots are the right route.
Buen camino
“” “””Leaving Ourense. Michael of wise Pilgrim describes the two alternative ways.. very clearly. the right variant - he...
But I still believe you!! (that it’s very very cold 🥶🥶🥶🥶)
Your pack tomorrow should be light ?? As you’ll probably be wearing a lot of your warm gear. 🥶🥶
Meal situation sounds a bit meagre though - something warm would go down well.
Buen camino
Hi Karin
The link in my msg above to Gronze …shows 27euros for single. They are private rooms.
Are you using gronze.com ? (Or checking it for accomm suggestions and approx prices ?). Note: for others thinking of staying here - best idea is to phone them and ask for the pilgrim rate.
A few...
Karin
Im just loving ‘walking alongside you’ virtually. Enjoying the detail of both the beauty and difficulties and your weather description really makes me ‘feel it’.
(
So many more than these ; that show how your day changed continually….
& you walked such a loooooong day. Hat off...
How beautiful the Vdlp is looking in early January! ☀️ 🌞 ⛅️ . You don’t look too rugged up and the sky is blue. Cold at night is expected. Great to see our animal friends en camino … (pigs, sheep and cattle ).
Are you seeing any early flowers yet?
So happy for you that you have lucked on...
