I don't have any web based images of me, sadly. It'd be such a nice surprise to finally meet or at least find someone from days gone by.

    Hello all

Behind... bar... third... street... Ok, cheers! :)

    Hello all

I'm leaving SJPdP about 6 days before you, so you'd better walk quickly or I'd better slow down :)

    Eventually doing it!!!

Why not pitstop in London for a few days, then get a cheap Ryan Air flight to wherever you're heading for the Camino?

    Eventually doing it!!!

You'll probably get as far as Burgos I'd have thought. Nice stretch of the country to do though. Good choice!

    In two weeks...

Good plan, ditch the iPod! The only time I'll miss mine is when I'm waiting for my flight. With regards to the food... Erm... Brace yourself... and don't be lulled into thinking that the 'steak' on the menu is going to be nice or else you'll be in for a horrible surprise! Also expect to have...

    Something different...

Woo! Good lucky matey, that's gonna be one long journey!

    Why do it?

I've got a number of reasons as to why... Although some I'd rather not put on here. For me, it's a way of finding myself and detaching me from the day to day mundanity of life. I'm away from the desk, the computer, the phone, the suits, the shouty people, the underground... Everything. I like...

    is this crazy?

Personally I'd start at SJPdP for the simple reason that it's beautiful. 8)

Where to find possible walking partners?

I find that you'll spend some days walking alone, some days with one person, some days with another and so on. More often than not, I ended up spending the evening with one big group as a whole and random trot along with whoever happened to be there! Tis a nice sense that you don't actually...

Where to find possible walking partners?

Not too sure to be honest. I go on my own and tend to meet random pilgrims along the way.

    Greetings to All

Later... Nearer 7am. One headtorch should suffice, although two would obviously be better, I'd say.

    Greetings to All

Kevin, I'll be about in Roncesvalles on 20th August. My advice to you would be to ensure you have a torch. It's much better walking for an hour in the dark/when the sun comes up, otherwise you'll start to cook! Doesn't mean you have to race though.

Personally, I think 32 days is about right. After Burgos, you don't have to do a long day and as a result, you can factor in a stop at Castrojeriz, which is one of my favourite places!

29 days is doable, but you may want to factor in a couple of days for any unexpected problems/obstacles you might encounter.

    where to start?

If you've not got time, the best part to miss in my opinion is the Meseta... Ok, so you miss out on Castrojeriz which I thought was cool, but there's more to see either side of it!
  17. Minkey

    where to start?

I guess you could take a bus or a train across the Meseta, between Burgos and Leon... Then walk the bits either side.

    camino frances June 23rd

Even if you don't, I'm sure you'll meet plenty of folks out there. It's always good to start alone, that's what I say!

I use flip flops as an all encompassing term for sandally type things...
