I'd like to introduce a pilgrim etiquette rule: Don't judge or disparage the intentions of other pilgrims based on the distance they walk, their attire, or where they sleep.
A few years ago there was a touring display of Playmobil Camino characters.

I don't have any doubt each day that I'll be walking, but I look out the door or window to decide whether I need my rain gear, or which outer layers I'll need.
Years ago I had a Bank of America account and was able to withdraw money at partner banks abroad such as DB, Santander, and Scotia Bank. But that ended around eight years ago. That's when I learned about Schwab.
That's the way that it is in the US. If I want to use my Wells Fargo debit card without a fee I need to do it at a Wells Fargo ATM. It's been the case for as long as I've had a debit card, which is many decades.
Interesting take. I think that if you have chosen the wrong gear it will have a greater impact on your Camino. I don't think much about my gear once I'm on the Camino because I've brought things that I know work for me.
Yup. I remember seeing it when it came out.

Also confusing is Vancouver, Washington and Vancouver, British Columbia which are only 300 miles apart on the same highway.
I've never heard of such a limit, but to rack up $300 in ATM fees would take a lot of withdrawals! At least one a day.
Here's the info about the Schwab account

Not really if you are starting the Francés from SJPdP. The big crowds from late April to early May will be gone. I think that June can be a good time to start.
This is what I always do. I always bring two debit cards from different banks, in case there's an issue with one of them. I use the bank's app to turn "off" the card card that's in reserve. Then if I have an issue with my main card, or it's lost or stolen I can turn my backup card "on."...
@jungleboy helped me find the picture of my favorite sello. It's from Albergue Lamas in Pradela. When I was there in 2017 they didn't have an actual sello, so this one was hand drawn. You can see me with a ponytail walking up the hill.
Mexico is also part of North America. The United States of America is the only country in the Americas with the word America in it, so it makes sense that those from the USA would be called Americans, just as those from the Estados Unidos de México are called Mexicans or Mexicanos/as.
You can learn to pronounce it, but as soon as you say "soy estadounidense" wait two seconds for someone to say "ah, American." 😉
PS break it down into syllables and it will soon be rolling off your tongue.
And it might be easier to say "soy de Estados Unidos."
