Worked for me to upon reinstallation on an Android phone. We're you notified to update the app? I wasn't but assume the new installation will be the updated version.
I loved walking from Tomar to Coimbra in 6 days in April 2023. As a solo female staying at albergues and guesthouses I met lots of other people and lots of pilgrims to walk with or alone. I also went to Luso to walk in the National Park there.
Your plan is similar to mine in 2022. But I wished I had stayed where muddy-mama suggested as O Lagar de Jesus is often recommended. I'd recommend staying at Ideas Pereginas in Tui and at Hostel Nuestra Señora del Camino in Combarro. I do not recommend staying in Milladoiro for your final night...
Hi Rachael. Thanks for this info. It's hard to find out much about Roamless on their website and reviews. It seems Roamless currently don't provide a phone number so you still need to use whatsapp for calling and receiving local calls in Spain. Is that right?
I too am staying 2 nights in Pamplona after flying to Madrid from Australia to help adjust to the new time zone and enjoy the city. That way I can choose not to stay there when walking the Camino from SJPP.
Hi Stephen. Am also an Aussie spending 10 weeks in Spain walking the Frances April to June this year. Thinking to buy 2 esims too. What ones are you buying? Friends have recommended Simcorner.
I agree with Jungleboy & Phil71. Tomar to Coimbra is beautiful camino walking and allow time to explore both towns which have interesting significant historic sites.
So much good info here. Has anyone reminded you to make sure you buy trail shoes at least half size larger to allow for feet swelling on long walks? I wear orthotics and use them in my Hokas which never needed wearing in for caminos. Mine are 1 size larger and have a wide toe box, thickly...
I'm not much taller and use an Osprey Tempest Pro 28L pack for my caminos. I love it as it is lightweight, has great hip pockets/belt and is very comfortable carrying 7-8 kgs. I will be taking a small sleeping bag instead of a liner on my next camino too but will still have some space for food...
Keen to see it too as loved the book and have enjoyed listening to podcast interviews with Bill and Jennifer too. When will the film be shown nationally and internationally?
You won't always be walking along the Coast if you follow the Coastal path as it heads inland away from the Litoral route which always hugs the coastline. There are 3 paths - Senda Litoral, Coastal & Central. The Coastal is also the same as the Litoral along the boardwalks for a few days beside...
Casa da Travassa has comfortable rooms, a communal kitchen and small dining area and laundry facilities in a quiet location close to the camino. Enjoyed my stay there in May.
Hi Mary Ellen. I walked from Tomar to Coimbra, a very pretty part, and found enough cafes/bars for most of it but certainly not as many as past Porto. Consult a guide book or gronze.com to be prepared.
