Albergue with privacy curtain (and towel)

In fact, Martyduc, I agree with you, that the above albergue is so good, I'm not bothering with F now (I've been twice before) and have just booked in for the next few days as well 😀 😄 😁. It's a 4 day holiday now, then fly home. My camino is over for another year (See Camino de Catalan forum...

LIVE from the Camino LIVE from the Camino de Catalán

The final post!!! It's taken 47 days of walking (plus 3 more before and after the walk) and 1230 kms, but the caminos Catalan, Aregones, Frances and Finisterra/ Fisterra from Montserrat (outside Barcelona) on to Santa Cilia, Puenta la Reina, Burgos, Leon, Santiago and finally Muxia is now...

Albergue with privacy curtain (and towel)

Cheers. You are confirming what I've found on Gronze, Booking, Beds etc. Strange. Oh well. Plan B.....

Albergue with privacy curtain (and towel)

I take it no one here has found an albergue recently in F that has privacy curtains?

Albergue with privacy curtain (and towel)

I sleep so much better when there's a privacy curtain on the bunk bed. Can anyone recommend an albergue with privacy curtains based on recent experience in Finisterra, please?

LIVE from the Camino LIVE from the Camino de Catalán

...munching on biscuits from the world's most crinklely packets, is maybe not a good idea at 11.00pm. Is that a cultural thing or was she just a twa*? So now, onwards. With a week left, I plan to walk to Finisterra and Muxia over perhaps 5 or 6 days, then go back to Santiago and take a 25min...

A tale of two Caminos - What about those crowds?

...for the night. Just four are taken this evening!! So much for no beds on this stretch. There are 2 bars within a few hundred meters, one has been open all evening for pizza, burgers and anything else you fancy. It's a lovely place to stay and recommended, even if this camino stretch is utter...

    Albergue Etiquette

Always use a spotlight, pack plastic bags a few times, set alarms, talk in a normal voice especially in the morning, answer phonecalls from your bed, switch on the light at 5.00am, take 30 mins to pack in the dorm and don't leave until you are packed: I've seen it all on this trip. Some call it...

Molinaseca to O Cebreiro stage mess up?

The walk up is 6kms long, takes about 2 and a half hours and there are cafes along the way. Take your time and you'll be fine. It's not horrendous, just sweaty. Stay in one of the villages at the bottom and set off early.

A tale of two Caminos - What about those crowds?

I've been walking from Montserrat, Barcelona since April 23rd. It's a real shocker from Portomarin onwards compared to anywhere else - school parties, tour groups, guided groups (LoL) and just lots and lots of people shoulder to shoulder. However, yesterday, I walked into the wonderful albergue...

LIVE from the Camino LIVE from the Camino de Catalán

Update - Day 37 - Trabadelo Added up the Wikilocs trails this evening, and I got 999kms from Montserrat 😅. Setting off for O Cebreiro and beyond tomorrow. Pushed on to to Trabadelo today after not being impressed with Villafranca - the town is on a massive incline plus roadworks at the bottom...

From just before Burgos - 47 friggin kms to find a bed!!!

"Most don’t even pack a mat or a sleeping bag." Absolutely! As someone who has done a huge amount of camping over the decades including 'roughing it', without a sleeping mat, you'll get a lousy night's sleep if any and will quickly get cold without something resembling a mat. And who wants to...

From just before Burgos - 47 friggin kms to find a bed!!!

Great Plan for some. Lousy idea for many. Depending on the weather, you'll be hot, sweaty and possibly smelly from the day's efforts and will remain so, or you'll be soaked through, cold and in need of getting warm. Then you'll be hungry and may not have emergency rations and are far from a...

    Poncho - Leon?

Thanks for the help. I went to the excellent Armerio Castro shop in the centre. They are clearly knowledgeable and have anything you need, hiking-related. I'm now the proud owner of a blue XL Altro H30. The only problem now is the damned weather forecast - it's sun for the next 10 days so can't...

LIVE from the Camino LIVE from the Camino de Catalán

...the walking a doddle and I'm feeling great, no injuries. The negatives are that there is a lot of walking by roads, some of the albergues are a fu***** disgrace (damp + smelling of / taking the cat pi33) and boy is it super, super busy. Pilgrims are everywhere you look, albergues can be...

From just before Burgos - 47 friggin kms to find a bed!!!

I met a 21 year old yesterday, who did 52 kms in the stage just before Leon. Zero beds anywhere. None!! I'm glad it's not just me who found / finding it hard to book beds!

    Poncho - Leon?

And another attempt looms, to buy a decent Poncho after trying and failing in the previous two likely towns. Anyone know where an Altos or similar might be bought in Leon, please? 😁

Lost & Found Anyone lost a nice grey hood, that pops onto a rainjacket? 😁

Found, on the path before Bercianos del Real Camino. Send me a PM for its return (I'm in Bercianos del Real Camino this evening).
