    Annual September Bed Race

Najera was certainly problematic this weekend for those who didn't book ahead or were up early to get to the municipal. Off stage there were beds. I stopped in Navarette and Cirueña, now enjoying a cerveza in Santo Domingo. Buen Camino. Looking ahead. Availability currently looks good for the...

Accommodations as bad as Booking.com shows ???

Hi Shawn, I am starting a couple of weeks before you, but I just looked at booking. Com for the 24th and 25th and both dates are showing availability at a number of places in SJPDP in both dorms and small hotels close to the centre..there are also places within a few km of Zubiri for the 29th..I...

New rule reported: 2 stamps per day within Spain [awaiting confirmation]

Some quick internet sleuthing (looking at the Spanish version of the page in the Internet Archive) appears to show that the Spanish wording has included this requirement since November of 2021. The snapshot taken on November 3rd 2021 has the old wording ( 2 stamps for last 100km ), but the...

    How to choose shoes?

I ended up buying mine from a store that only does shoes for runners. They asked me a lot of questions about what I was going to be doing and made several suggestions..they also had a 14 day return policy which allowed me to try them out in the real world. I ended up with Salomon Ultra Glides...

Canadian Pilgrims - Freedom Mobile Question

Thanks for the comprehensive reply - I am happy to hear that the coverage is generally good in Spain. I will have a chance to test it out before my trip as I have a trip to the UK coming up as well. I actually signed up for the 15GB plan, which generally is more than enough for me. I got...

Canadian Pilgrims - Freedom Mobile Question

Hi Teddie, I have done this in the past. The Roam Beyond account doesn’t work like this however, the data on the account can be used in Canada and in other countries with no roaming charges..I was curious if anyone has used it. If not, I’ll report back once I have, and let people know if it...

Canadian Pilgrims - Freedom Mobile Question

Roam Beyond is one of their standard plans, you can use the data in 81 countries, so you basically don't need to get a second sim. I just signed up last month, but haven had the chance to use it overseas yet, so I was curious if others had.. I got a good deal $45/40GB per month. you can also...

Canadian Pilgrims - Freedom Mobile Question

Hi fellow Canadian pilgrims. Has anyone used the Roam Beyond plan from Freedom Mobile whilst on the Camino? I am curious about how well it works in Spain. It seems like a good option vs getting a local SIM. thanks in advance Stewart

what Camera option are people using

I just picked up the Falcam F38 backpack clip. I have tested it now a few times out and about, and will be using it on my September Camino. It is a good alternative to the peak design one.

What lens or lenses did you used most if you carried a DSLR or mirrorless camera?

I am looking forward to some low light shots too. This is why I will likely take my R6 vs the 70D. It is a low light beast 😀, and has served me well in very dark concert environments, it will be odd to be using it in a calmer environment..lol
