Trying to decide between Renfe which doesn’t get to Ponferrada until 9:30, and would mean sitting at the airport all day, versus Alsa bus which is longer but gets into Ponferrada at 3:45.
If I leave Ponferrada early enough to arrive in Villavieja and spend some time at the castle Cornatel, can I leave the next day, spend some meaningful time beholding las Medulas and Orellan, and still get to puente de Domingo Florez?
Back in 2017 it was! We arrived in Astorga during siesta on a Sunday, so it was a bit tricky to find one, but there was a kind driver who was willing to drive us after searching and being pilgrim patient.
Thanks for all the creative thinking. Because the Invierno is somewhat shorter than two weeks, i thought I’d take a bus from Chantada to Ourense. If I do that, do I lose the chance to get the credencial? (If it does, that would be ok.)

I find myself intrigued by the idea of detouring to Ourense from Chantada and following the Sanabres until the two join together at a Lalin. Has anyone done this or given it consideration?
