I do hope it will not be too crowded. I O much want to do my second Camino Frances starting around 12th of September. The first one was in September 2014 and lovely.
There are Camino less frequented if Santiago is not a must. Piemonts Pyrenees, stretching from the Mediterranean along the...
I also don't want to see those restrictions, but some change is probably necessary. Maybe with the terribly crowded Caminos the people walking for fun or for exercise might just get tired of it and try other ways of spending a nice vacation. There are plenty other hiking routes in the world...
The Camino will be rather crowded so you can always find someone who speaks bott English and Spanish. And walking alone shouldn't be a problem, you will quickly find your "Pilgrim Family".

Hi Sarah,
Spain is hot in August, but Ourense to Santiago is up north, so from mid August you should be ok. Could be a lot of pilgrims though, and you can never be sure about the heat.

I never had a problem with that. On the Via Podiensis in France you have to pass through the fenced areas where the cows were grazing together with their calves and big daddy Bull. But really BIG!
The never paid any attention to the pilgrims, but of course that was a bit scary.
Hi. I worked in the SJPdP Pilgrim Office one week from 28th of August and it was really crowded for a few days. Lots of rain and not enough beds in SJPdP. My advise for next year is - start one week before or after 1st of September if possible. It might be less crowded then.
I would use the old guide book and communicate with my pilgrim fellows on the Camino.
The app Wise pilgrim is super if you want to use the smart phone, you find everything there.

I'm planning to do the Primitivo this September, walking from Oviedo to Santiago and then to Finisterre. I only have 23 days to walk after finishing a week's work in the SJPP pilgrim office.
It would be nice to hear about your experiences.
Buen Camino.

I thought I would meet some nice fellow pilgrims on the road sooner or later, but becoming like a family with a small group from the first day wasn't exactly what I'd expected. I love walking alone and at the end of the day having dinner with my "family".
