I was about to post the same @Vacajoe !
We started just before llanes 2 days ago. No reservations needed anywhere. Relaxed everywhere.
PS - where are you now? We’re staying in Pola tonight!
Right you are! I’ve slept on it and decided to come into the Norte at llanes - when the primitivo then comes up on the left I’ll either take that or continue Norte based on how I’m feeling and other pilgrims. At least gives me a choice
Another update - hornillos was very busy and multiple people couldn’t find any beds and were sent onwards. The next stop down also didn’t have beds so I don’t know where they ended up finding spaces.
After running to get a bed today I’ve actually made the decision to hike and travel tomorrow...
For those are you that are wondering how it’s looking further down the Camino (and apologies if anyone has given an update already). Arrived in Burgos today at 5pm due to a long journey. The public albergue right by the cathedral is busy but not full - I easily still got a spot.
Arriving in Burgos shortly and starting Camino tomorrow. Anyone who’s here let me know and I’ll say hi!
I’ll also post an update on beds & weather as I go.
PS - any food/albergue tips let me know 🙏 I was just going to try the two public ones and see if I can snag a bed as I’m coming in at 3pm
Thank you! I have my partner joining me on the last 100km so part of my thinking was that it would be meaningful to finish it together from Sarria to SDC. Also been hearing that it’s very crowded in SJPDP already so I’m somewhat hoping that I’m beating the crowds to Burgos if I then try and push...
Lovely to meet you both and really hope we do get to meet at the start ☺️ I’m arriving on Tuesday 7th and will sleep a night in one of the albergues before setting off Wednesday morning :) buen Camino
Feel better @arfajajc! Know the feeling of being holed up by yourself :(
Sounds like the Camino is pretty cold at the moment as well, so that probably doesn't do any favours. I'm starting in a bit over a week in Burgos - so I might catch you on the Camino!
Abrazo & hope you recover quickly
@Becky 59 and @Annw - wow snow in May....
How cold has it been getting at night with this weather? I'm starting in a bit over a week and was just planning on taking a super light (15C) sleeping bag + liner that adds about another few degrees...Need to pack warmer?
Thanks all for your detailed responses! I did consider that @CWBuff initially but hearing about the crowds starting at the beginning of May in SJPDP as @EricJR is pointing out above (and as I read in the Live CF thread), think sticking with Burgos might be a good idea and then if I still have...
